Dog traing award

Master Dog Trainer and Animal Behaviorist Jim Stile has been offering professional dog training services since1990. Dog behavior training is an art that is not acquired by watching Youtube videos. Jim had dogs since pre-adolescence. His first dog was named Trouble. He advanced to Rottweiler’s in the early ‘90s, training obedience, guard-dogs, and protection dogs. From 2000 to 2008, he trained and competed GSD’s (German Shepherd Dogs) in a competitive worldwide sport known as Schutzhund, now known as IGP. This dog sport started off not as a sport, but as a series of tests developed by a German National named Captain Max von Stephanitz in the 1890's. He attended the Berlin Germany Veterinary College to learn biology, anatomy, and the science of movement of canines all of which he later applied to the breeding of German Shepherd Dogs. His purpose was to establish the breed standard for the German Shepherd Dog. Schutzhund, as a sport, began in 1957. Jim has visited and trained at KNPV Police Clubs in the Netherlands. Dutch KNPV is the most advanced Police training in the world. Jim has imported German Shepherd Dogs from Austria, The Netherlands, Germany, and Belgium, striving to obtain the best genetics for breeding.

In the sport of Schutzhund, Jim's achievements are notable and many in the competitive arena. He has trained and competed with the best dog trainers in the world on all levels, which included a start in Schutzhund with the formation of and being a member of Alpha K9 Schutzhund Club of New Jersey.  Competing on club trial levels, Regional Championships, and International, and National Championship Level numerous times placing in the top 10, and as good as 3rd Place National Champion in the 2007 USA German Shepherd Dog National Championships. It is of worthy note that the 2007 German Shepherd Dog National Championship competition was decided on a political basis and given to a Southern competitor when Jim, a New Yorker, was the clear winner with the best protection, obedience, and tracking displayed and performed with his GSD. Twelve spectators came over to Jim to apologize for what they witnessed, and left the competition in protest. This National Championship proved to be the deciding factor that dog competition was no longer for Jim. The only benefit of training and competing at this highest level of dog training in the world was the blessing of having trained with the best in the world such as Fritz Biehler, and Helmut Raiser, and numerous other super stars.

In 2007, Jim and his canine Xablitz Von Sulieseraad SCH3, IPO3, FH1, and KKL2 (Blitz) were National Vice-Champion (2nd place) in tracking. In 2008, he qualified and was selected to represent the USA in the FCI World Championship held in Belgium. Jim's last competition was the 2008 German Shepherd Dog Masters Tournament which was by invitation only to 30 of the best dog trainers in the world. Over the course of 34 years, Jim has trained thousands of dogs and dog owners. Jim has much experience with responsible breeding of German Shepherd Dogs and Dutch Shepherd Dogs.

Jim has bred, trained, and sold many GSD canines for law enforcement agencies. Jim also does special training of canines for the handicapped and disabled. He has trained and placed numerous canines with handicapped persons around the USA such as in Maine, Tennessee, Massachusettes, Connecticut, Florida and New York. These canines are qualified to travel through major International airports, go into hospitals and many other public venues. The training of canines for the handicapped//disabled has been for Autistic children, wheelchair bound persons, persons with psychiatric conditions, veterans with physical and psychological disabilities, persons with mobility problems and persons that have episodes of passing out without notice or seizures. Jim has taught Animal Behavior classes.

Since the tragic event of September 11, 2001, dog training services took a new direction for Acadia Canine Academy and numerous other dog trainers. As our country became more security conscious, the need for canine security services became more in demand and training transitioned towards Personal Protection, Security, and Executive Protection Security dogs for the general public who would protect individuals and their families who had become more at risk. There also evolved a demand for canines to thwart future terrorist attacks through odor detection of explosive materials and detection of deadly weapons. These canines came into serious demand not only in the United States but also internationally and are commonly known as T.E.D.D. Tactical Explosive Detection Dogs, and T.W.D.D. Tactical Weapons Detection Dogs. Based upon this newfound international demand, Acadia Canine Academy transitioned out of the competitive dog sport arena, and service dogs for the handicapped and began to focus more on the security services industry of canines. As the years progressed, Jim's true passion evolved into training pet dogs, realizing the joy of making happy owners and families. Jim designed and developed a standard of what a dog training establishment should be! Welcome to Acadia Canine Academy's advanced methodology, unique from any other dog training model in existence.

"Our experience working with Jim was nothing short of amazing. My husband and I enrolled Pippin (our 3 year old yorkie) into the two week board and train program while we were out of town, hoping that Jim could help us with some basic training, as well as give us some guidance surrounding his more problematic dominant behaviors (which include biting and guarding). Jim and Janice demonstrated an in-depth understanding of dog behavior, and utilize humane training techniques. They patiently explained the reasons behind Pippins behaviors and gave us strategies to work with him, which they demonstrated for us upon our return (even letting us take a video of them working with Pippin so that we have a reference as we continue his training at home). Now that we have specific strategies for working with Pippin we have seen much improvement. It's very clear that Jim and his staff care about the dogs they work with and you can rest assured your pup will be in good hands. We would confidently recommend Jim and his staff!" Melissa T.
"Jim is an amazing trainer who helped tremendously our 6 month cavapoo Cookie. I really appreciate the straightforward commands and instruction he provided, all through patience, positive adjustments, and continuous reenforcement. I highly recommend Jim!" Rossana S.
"Working with Jim was absolutely great, I can't recommend Acadia Canine Academy any higher for dog board and train work. We brought our 1-year-old, Wolf, to ACA for training. We were hoping to work on a few things, among them: recall, anxiety in public, and reactivity towards other dogs. Wolf lost a leg at some point before we adopted him, so we assumed there was some serious trauma he had undergone that contributed to his anxiety. We were hopeful that Wolf could fare well with good training. Jim was very happy to take Wolf in for board and train, and was highly generous with his time over the phone to discuss any detail or concern. Dropping Wolf off, I felt reassured that it would go well, as ACA is clean, organized, and Jim's dogs are wonderfully well behaved. Picking Wolf up, I could tell Wolf had a wonderful time and made incredible progress on all of our points of improvement. It was also a great learning experience for myself. Jim gave highly perceptive observations on Wolf's behavior, and also suggested that his missing leg may have been due to an attack from another dog, which would explain his defensiveness. I hadn't thought of this, but it made a lot of sense. Furthermore, Jim showed deep interest and care in Wolf, and he gave some advice and discussed therapeutic relief for Wolf's remaining hind leg. Today Wolf is a more relaxed, more obedient, and better trained pup. We are looking forward to working with Jim and co. at ACA again." Dean G.
