Dogs In Need of Rehoming

At Acadia Canine Academy, we believe that owning a dog is a lifelong commitment. However, life can present unexpected challenges that may lead to the difficult decision of rehoming a beloved pet. Acadia Canine Academy acts as a bridge for individuals wishing to rehome dogs and those looking to adopt. Please be aware that Acadia Canine Academy does not take responsibility for the health or behavior of the dogs, we cannot guarantee successful matches between dogs and their new owners. Our primary aim is to facilitate connections and assist in the rehoming process, helping to create a smoother transition for both the canine and their new families.

Dutch Shepherd pair

Adult Dutch Shepherd
May (age 4)

This adult Dutch Shepherd is in need of a new home due to a change in her owners circumstances. Her sister April was rehomed recently, and now it is Mays turn.

May does not like strangers in the home but is generally ok with them in public, but she is shy. Other than strangers and other dogs, there is NO food aggression, she is good with basic commands and plays well individually outside.

May needs a home with owners who understand the intensity and energy level of the breed, and are committed to caring for her and giving May consistent attention and exercise.
